Who am I???

My name is Michelle L. Wardlow, and I am currently a student at Western Illinois University. I enjoy writing poetry, and will soon like to get into photography. It sounds like a lot of fun. I think I'll be getting a digital camera next semester, as those are the easiest to start out with, and I could always get other cameras when time and finance allows. I like digital for the simple fact that there is no film needed to develop. The thing I don't care too much for is the fact that this is something you really do need a computer for, and there are various drawbacks to depending upon technology for storage of information. While things are much more convenient, things can also be tampered with, or come up missing, or be changed or hacked into.
What I am considering is getting a cell phone with a camera option built in, so I could have both options at my disposal. Sounds pretty good to me, but I worry about the pixel size. Might not be too beneficial for taking good professional quality photographs. That's what I want to learn, is the professional side of it. Maybe even how to market myself, in later times.
I'll be taking some art courses soon, and would need to talk with an advisor in order that my focus can be on photography, this way I can avoid unnecessary coursework.

ONE POEM FOR STARTERS

Gypsy Fantasy

Let's take a ride in my caravan
to a place where rare flowers grow
to our home under the oak tree
that no one else will know

We've done our deeds,
it's time to fly
to our homes of brick and steele
to our glittering castles and fields of rye

The frigid winds blow across the plains
When will I feel the heat again?
Goodbyes will come and go
They're not all permanent you know
